September is Library Card Sign-up Month, and the Chatham Area Public Library joins the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries nationwide to remind our community that signing up for a library card is the first step on the path to lifelong learning and academic achievement.
There is nothing more empowering than signing up for your own library card. Through access to physical and digital resources, technology, and more, a library card provides people of all ages opportunities to pursue their interests and passions and affords students the tools to succeed in the classroom.
During September, the Chatham Area Public Library will be celebrating with Library Card Sign-up Bingo*! The Chatham Area Public Library board is filled with library-related activities and can be picked up from the Library's lobby or downloaded from their website at www.chathamlib.org. To play, simply mark off the activities completed throughout the month and once a Bingo (a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal row) is achieved, return the Bingo board to the Library’s lobby by September 30 to be entered into a prize drawing.
During September, the Chatham Area Public Library, ALA, and libraries nationwide unite together in a national effort to ensure library cards get into the hands of many. To learn more about how to get a library card and about the Library’s resources and programs, please visit www.chathamlib.org or call the Library at 217-483-2713.
